The scale of Cyber Policy

TL:DR - It affects everyone. Remember when the industrial revolution kicked off in the early 1900's and it went out of control until the government stepped in and did something? Well, thats what is happening right now with cyber policy, the government after seeing all of these isolated incidents has started to pass legislation about regulating the privacy of people online, regulating big tech, and trying to enforce rules about AI and its usage. The similarities are there - Standard oil had a monopoly on oil, Meta and TikTok now are competing for a near monopoly on social media - which they use to sell your information to advertisement providers in order to flip a massive profit. Laws are being passed, true, but people need to take action against the loop holes some of these companies use. Hell, its not just cyber security, its everywhere. The Disney death contract fiasco is an example of what happens when companies are able to control their consumers with one contract, granting them inhumane powers that they will exploit to their advantage. Same with big tech - OpenAI was investigated for having a near monopoly over AI, along with NVIDIA and Microsoft. Its affecting everyone, as consumers buy from these companies and use their services on a day to day scale, this is an issue we can't simply look over - its something we need to address, now.
