Why are International Cybersecurity Frameworks important?

If you just want a 1-second know how: its just a structured guideline that most companies have to abide internationally.

With this knowledge, we can reasonably infer that these International Cybersecurity Frameworks are compiled by multiple countries to be in regulation with their own national cybersecurity laws, and this helps clients of companies that do international business be safe when they use their data for said international business. Without these frameworks, our information could be ported off to some third world country to be used for god-knows what. It is no secret that the world is connected like never before- and these frameworks help make sure that our information is safe all around the globe.

An example of this would be the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, an international framework designed to address cybersecurity issues. It provides an outline for countries to align their laws, enhance investigative procedures, and strengthen international cooperation in combating cyber-related offenses such as hacking, fraud, child exploitation, and intellectual property violations. Additionally, the convention establishes protocols for gathering and exchanging evidence and data, ensuring that law enforcement agencies can work together.
