Why companies should focus more on Cyber Security in 2024

After guzzling down 2 bottles of Mexican Sprite and listening to this video, my mind began to wander about why companies don't like to talk about safe cyber practices to most of their employees. Nadya Bartol makes an interesting point in her video: cyber security is there, but when it is there, nobody notices it until it is not there. Most companies actually have many cyber security policies in place to keep their data safe and secure, and nobody bats an eye about it. However, when the security is breached, now everyone is in a panic to fix it, resulting in millions of dollars in damages that could have been prevented if someone was a bit more vigilant about the companies cybersecurity. Its not anyones fault though - cybersecurity is often taken for granted, a "one size fits all" solution if you will. The common misconception is that antivirus software and encryption are invincible from attacks, and yet data breaches occur all the time. Companies need to start training all their employees in Cyber Security, and not just the IT dudes and dudettes, and maybe, just maybe, less data breaches will occur and thus, less property damages.
